Joe Carrington is best known for his involvement in staging the most famous fights in the unlicensed fight game. Joe managed Roy Shaw and helped bring fighters like Lenny McLean into the public eye. From a very early age Joe was involved in villainy, sent to borstal as a young man he joined the army when he was released in a vain effort to go straight.

Fighting in Palestine Joe was awarded the Distinguished service medal after saving the lives of several soldiers. Upon his release Joe returned to the East End and a life of crime and was imprisoned on more than one occasion. One of the most respected men amongst the criminal fraternity in London.
